Aligarh, 21st Nov. Five people were killed and several others injured when a bus collided with a truck on the Yamuna Expressway early Thursday morning, police reported. The accident occurred in the Tappal area of Aligarh district, between Wednesday night and Thursday.
According to an injured passenger, the privately-operated bus was traveling from Delhi’s Kashmere Gate to Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh, when it collided with the truck carrying glass items. Upon receiving the report, police immediately arrived at the scene to carry out relief and rescue operations.
The injured passengers were transported to the hospital, while the bodies of the five deceased were sent for post-mortem. Police have initiated legal proceedings and confirmed that traffic has resumed on the expressway following the accident.
