Imphal, 21st Nov. Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh on Thursday announced that the Centre has sanctioned Rs 104.66 crore to improve healthcare facilities in the state’s hill districts.
Singh expressed his gratitude towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Health Minister JP Nadda, and DoNER Minister J. M. Scindia for their support in advancing development in the region.
In a post on X, Singh highlighted that for the first time, districts like Chandel, Ukhrul, Jiribam, Senapati, and Tamenglong would gain access to advanced medical facilities, including CT scans, MRIs, ICU services, and super-specialty care. This initiative aims to bring healthcare closer to residents.
He further noted that the Churachandpur Medical College is already operational, transforming the healthcare landscape of the region. The Rs 104.66 crore sanction, provided under the Prime Minister’s Development Initiative for North East Region (PM-DevINE), is a step toward ensuring equitable healthcare access for all.
