The Bigg Boss house is never just a backdrop to the drama, and Season 20 appears ready to take that tradition several steps further. With Salman Khan returning as host, the upcoming season promises a bigger and more extravagant setup, with the house transformed into a quirky, dreamlike world where ordinary objects take on unexpected forms.
From unconventional furniture to striking installations, almost every corner of the house has been designed to make contestants and viewers pause, look twice and wonder what they are seeing.
A house built around duality
The Season 20 house revolves around the theme of duality, bringing together objects and ideas that would not ordinarily share the same space. Familiar elements have been reimagined in unusual ways, giving the house a colourful, youthful and slightly surreal character.
One of the most eye-catching installations is a giant teapot, with its spout appearing to pour directly into a couch, transforming a familiar kitchen object into an unconventional piece of furniture.
Another standout feature is a giant octopus holding chess pieces in its tentacles. The quirky design combines the unpredictability of the ocean with the strategy and calculation associated with chess — an apt reflection of the alliances, rivalries and unexpected moves that are central to life inside the Bigg Boss house.
A hot-air balloon converted into a seating area adds another unusual element. Traditionally associated with travel and exploration, the balloon has been given a completely different purpose inside the house.
A quirky tap with flowers growing from it adds to the playful aesthetic, blending an everyday household object with elements of nature.
Eyes everywhere
The house also features eyes placed across different spaces, reinforcing one of the show’s most recognisable themes — constant surveillance.
The design serves as a visual reminder that contestants are always being watched and that even an apparently insignificant conversation, reaction or decision can become part of the game. The recurring eye motif therefore connects the house’s artistic concept with the very essence of Bigg Boss.
Room No. 20 keeps its secret
Adding another element of suspense is Room No. 20, whose purpose and design have been kept under wraps for now.
The room’s mystery is expected to unfold only as the season progresses, giving viewers another reason to keep an eye on the house once the contestants enter and the game officially begins.
Art director Varsha Jain explained that the design was created to challenge how viewers perceive familiar objects.
“Designing the Bigg Boss Hindi Season 20 house was about creating a world that constantly challenges perception. We wanted to explore the idea of duality by taking objects and symbols that audiences instantly recognise and reimagining them in unexpected ways,” she said.
Jain added that every element was designed to appear familiar initially but reveal something unexpected on closer inspection. She said the eyes throughout the house bring the concept back to the show’s central idea that “nothing goes unseen”.
According to the art director, the overall aim was to make the house feel like a dreamscape where reality and imagination coexist, with every space offering contestants and viewers something new to discover.
