Bhubaneswar, 28th Jan. Addressing the ‘Utkarsh Odisha – Make in Odisha Conclave 2025,’ Prime Minister Narendra Modi underlined India’s immense potential to become a global hub for live concerts, citing the recent success of Coldplay concerts held in Mumbai and Ahmedabad as evidence.
“You must have seen fabulous pictures of the Coldplay concerts organized in Mumbai and Ahmedabad. It shows that India has a massive scope for live concerts. Big artists from around the world are attracted towards India,” PM Modi said during the event in Bhubaneswar.
Highlighting India’s rich cultural legacy of music and dance, the Prime Minister noted that the country’s deep-rooted appreciation for art makes it a “huge consumer of concerts.” He encouraged state governments and private sector stakeholders to invest in developing the necessary infrastructure and skills to support the growing demand for live music and cultural events.

PM Modi emphasized that to capitalize on this opportunity, India must focus on creating world-class venues and supporting industries. He called for collaborations between the government and private players to ensure that global artists and event organizers continue to view India as an attractive destination.
The Prime Minister’s remarks come at a time when India is witnessing a surge in international live performances, with major artists and global music festivals choosing Indian cities as key tour destinations. This trend is seen as not only boosting the entertainment industry but also contributing to local economies through tourism and ancillary industries.

The Prime Minister also highlighted Odisha’s unique position in India’s cultural and industrial landscape. He commended the state for its efforts in hosting the Make in Odisha Conclave, which has become a significant platform for attracting investment and showcasing Odisha’s strengths across sectors, including art and culture.
