Dehradun, 20th Feb. Uttarakhand Finance Minister Premchand Aggrawal on Thursday presented a ₹1,01,175.33 crore Budget for 2025-26 in the state assembly, emphasizing innovation, agriculture, connectivity, and infrastructure development.
The Budget includes ₹59,954.65 crore for revenue expenditure and ₹41,220.68 crore for capital outlay. Compared to last year’s ₹89,000 crore Budget, this marks a significant increase, reflecting the government’s ambitious vision for the state’s growth.
Tabling the Budget, Aggrawal highlighted its alignment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for a “strong Uttarakhand,” with a focus on agriculture, industry, energy, tourism, and ayush. He introduced the acronym “NAMO” to define the Budget’s core priorities:
- N for Navachar (Innovation)
- A for Aatmnirbhar Uttarakhand (Self-reliant Uttarakhand)
- M for Mahan Virasat (Great Heritage)
- O for Ojaswi Manav Sansadhan (A Spirited Human Resource)
Soon after the Budget presentation, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami called it a holistic financial roadmap that incorporates public aspirations. “This Budget has been prepared after consultations with various sections of society. It ensures welfare for women, farmers, youth, and the poor,” he stated.
The Budget is expected to drive Uttarakhand’s growth by enhancing infrastructure, boosting agriculture, and strengthening the state’s economic foundation.
