Sikar, 19th Oct. Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar on Saturday underscored the transformative power of education and the role of innovation in shaping India’s future. Addressing the Silver Jubilee celebration of the Sobhasaria Group of Institutions in Sikar, Rajasthan, he lauded the institution’s progress from an engineering college to a notable educational group, and praised the visionary leadership of ‘Padma Shri’ Shri P.R. Agarwala.
Reflecting on the institution’s 25-year journey, the Vice President highlighted the need for introspection and forward-thinking. He expressed confidence that under Shri Agarwala’s guidance, the institution would continue to grow and become a center of excellence as India aims to achieve a developed nation status by 2047.
Dhankhar emphasized the critical importance of providing students with an environment to harness their talents and the significance of a transparent and accountable governance system in India today. “Today’s ecosystem allows young minds to fully realize their potential and aspirations,” he noted, adding that meritocracy now prevails over privilege.
The Vice President also emphasized the technological strides India has made in infrastructure, highlighting advancements in airports, metro stations, and highway construction. He praised the country’s economic progress, noting India’s rise to the world’s fifth-largest economy, with a GDP growth rate of 8%.
In a call to action for the younger generation, he highlighted the importance of embracing disruptive technologies such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, and machine learning. He urged institutions like Sobhasaria to adopt a futuristic curriculum that would keep India competitive globally. “If we do not remain technologically advanced, our economic progress will halt,” he warned.
Addressing the migration of Indian students for overseas education, the Vice President expressed concerns over the $6 billion forex drain and called for a shift in focus towards improving India’s educational infrastructure. He emphasized the need for awareness among students about opportunities within India and encouraged industry leaders to support educational institutions through CSR funds.
He highlighted the legacy of ancient Indian centers of learning such as Nalanda and Takshashila, lamenting their destruction and urging the revival of India’s status as a global hub of knowledge. “Now is the time for every Indian to contribute to the mission of making India a leading center of education,” Dhankhar asserted.
The Vice President also touched upon the role of the National Education Policy (NEP) in transforming the education sector. He described it as a “game-changer” that would empower India’s youth with the necessary skills for the future.
In his closing remarks, the Vice President urged all citizens to prioritize the nation’s interests above all, calling on the youth to counter forces that threaten national unity and integrity. He concluded by encouraging students to leverage the current era of opportunities for both personal growth and national service.
