New Delhi, 20th Feb. Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma met Union Home Minister Amit Shah at his official residence in the national capital on Tuesday, seeking guidance for the upcoming mega Business Summit in Guwahati.
During the meeting, Dr. Sarma briefed Shah on the extensive preparations undertaken by the Assam government to ensure the two-day event’s success. He emphasized efforts to attract domestic and international participation and secure significant investments in key sectors.
Praising the Chief Minister’s efforts, Shah expressed confidence that the summit would not only draw substantial investments but also position Assam as a pivotal player in India’s economic growth and an attractive investment destination.
Dr. Sarma also felicitated Shah with a traditional gamocha. The meeting, which lasted over 30 minutes, underscored the Centre’s keen interest in Assam’s economic development.
The Advantage Assam 2.0 Summit is set to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 25. Later, taking to social media platform X, Sarma wrote, “Today in New Delhi, I had the honour of meeting Hon’ble Home Minister Shri @amitshah Ji to seek his guidance for #AdvantageAssam2.”
