Champaran, 18th Dec.
In a bold crackdown, the Bihar Police used bulldozers to demolish the houses of over 100 absconding criminals in East Champaran on Tuesday. The operation, spearheaded by SP Swarn Prabhat, targeted individuals with pending warrants who had ignored prior court notices to surrender.

Police teams conducted the demolitions across multiple locations using JCB machines. In Motihari, the property of Vishwanath Vishwas, a known local criminal, was seized and demolished under SP Prabhat’s direct supervision.

Commenting on the campaign, SP Prabhat said, “This action serves as a stern warning to offenders and reaffirms the administration’s commitment to law enforcement and accountability.”

The district-wide initiative, involving 50 police station heads, circle inspectors, and DSPs, has already led to 10 to 12 accused individuals surrendering. The properties of those who failed to comply with court orders have been attached or razed.

SP Prabhat has introduced several focused campaigns to address crime in the district, including:

  • Operation Helmet: A rural crime control initiative.
  • Operation Number Plate: Targeting vehicles with fake or illegal registration.
  • Operation Anusandhan: Tracking absconders and serious crime suspects.
  • Anti-Narcotics Campaign: Tackling illegal alcohol and drug trade.

These measures have significantly strengthened law enforcement and ensured accountability in the region.
