Mumbai, 18th Nov. Union Minister Chirag Paswan on Sunday accused the Congress party of consistently insulting Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, the chief architect of the Indian Constitution. Speaking after paying tribute to Ambedkar at Chaitya Bhoomi in Mumbai’s Dadar, Paswan, the national president of Lok Janshakti Party, claimed that the Congress had played a role in ensuring Ambedkar’s defeat in the Lok Sabha elections.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi is working towards realizing Ambedkar’s ideals, which is why the opposition feels threatened and flaunts the Constitution in public,” said Paswan, who represents Hajipur in Bihar. He also pointed out that before 1989, Ambedkar’s portrait had not been displayed in the Central Hall of Parliament, while portraits of “three members of the same family” adorned the hall, reflecting the Congress’ mindset.
Paswan, who is also the Union Minister of Food Processing Industries, was in Mumbai campaigning for candidates of the BJP-led Mahayuti ahead of the November 20 Maharashtra Assembly elections.
