Bhubaneswar, 8th Jan. Union Minister Mansukh L. Mandaviya, speaking at the 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD), spotlighted India’s young demographic advantage and the government’s decade-long efforts to harness this potential. With an average age of 29 years, India boasts one of the youngest populations globally, positioning itself as a hub for innovation and leadership.
Mandaviya highlighted flagship initiatives such as Skill India, Start-up India, and Digital India, which are transforming the youth into global leaders in innovation, entrepreneurship, and technology. These programs aim to equip young Indians with skills, entrepreneurial opportunities, and digital access, ensuring their participation in the global economy.
Calling on the Indian diaspora to contribute to youth development, Mandaviya emphasized the importance of global collaborations to enhance India’s growth story. “Pravasi Bharatiya Divas serves as a vital platform to strengthen ties with the diaspora and leverage their expertise to propel India’s progress,” he said.
The ongoing Pravasi Bharatiya Divas in Bhubaneswar has brought together over 5,000 delegates from across the globe, with discussions focusing on the theme “Contribution of Indian Diaspora in Developed India”. The event underscores the pivotal role of the Indian community abroad in shaping the nation’s future, particularly in areas like innovation, education, and investment.
The three-day event will conclude with an address by President Droupadi Murmu, who will honor distinguished members of the Indian diaspora with the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Awards.
