Gwalior, 14th Nov. The majestic Gwalior Fort will host an extraordinary cultural event on November 16, 2024, as it becomes the backdrop for A Street Cart Named Desire, a unique performance art show. This event marks the fourth edition of Panorama Editions, conceived by renowned artist and filmmaker Sarah Singh. The performance will feature a stellar lineup of over 48 international and Indian artists, offering a fusion of classical music, dance, opera, and more.
The one-night-only performance promises to be an immersive cultural experience, blending various forms of artistic expression in one of India’s most iconic heritage sites. The event is open to the public, but prior registration is required by November 14. To reserve a seat, interested attendees can email gwaliorfort2024@gmail.com. Entry will be available from 5:30 PM to 6:00 PM, with the program commencing promptly at 6:30 PM until 8:30 PM.
This year’s Panorama Editions is co-produced in partnership with the Government of Madhya Pradesh’s Departments of Tourism and Culture, UNESCO, the Royal Family of Gwalior, and other key cultural partners, including Ambassador Monika Kapil Mohta, Siddhaant Mohta of Sopaan, and more than 15 diplomatic embassies and cultural centers. The event stands as a testament to global cultural exchange and international collaboration.
Artists from countries such as Germany, Poland, Spain, Italy, Greece, Hungary, Switzerland, Portugal, Belgium, Austria, Sweden, Netherlands, Denmark, Ukraine, Guatemala, and Lithuania will participate, creating a cross-cultural artistic dialogue.
The event has been made possible through the generous support of VFS Global, Caparo Group, CBSL Group, the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), and IndiGo. The event will also attract notable personalities from India’s cultural, political, and economic spheres, as well as senior representatives from over 25 diplomatic missions.
In addition to the live performance, a related exhibition will be held at the Jai Vilas Palace Museum from November 16 to 24, 2024, showcasing props and costumes from the production. Supported by the Gwalior Royal Family, the exhibition will later travel to Purana Quila in Delhi, where it will be displayed from December 5 to December 10, 2024.
Panorama Editions has previously been hosted at prestigious heritage sites in Patiala, Jodhpur, and Jaisalmer, and this year’s edition promises to be one of the most memorable, highlighting Gwalior Fort’s grandeur and significance in the world of art and culture.
