Oh! Gen-Z!
You are the last generation to be ruled by Gen-Baby Boomers. Abbreviations were
then wanting. Topsy-turvy then the world was. Geo level swaying, policies were of
macro level, sluggish in change were the society’s character. Electrical was turning
towards electronics, micro was arising from slumber of dormancy by tangibility. Arts
was having value, heritage was worthy, governance was governed by adhocism,
money was there, currency was there, leisure was there, play was there, colonization
was taking the shape of globalization, dominance was yet to take the form of
protectionism.
But who you are?
You are the landing in the staircase of that tall building – the future history of present
civilization.
You are the landing – the Quarter Landing, where the civilization is taking 90-degree
turn. Mobile looking like a walkie-talkie turned to a Smartphone. Have you become
smart?
You are the landing – the Half Landing, whence that very Gen-Baby-Boomers are
taking 180-degree turn; they were feeling proud to see the dark smoke of their
factories and now dictating you to stop coal mining.
You are the landing – the Resting Place, where the civilization is taking pause before
the final journey! That final (journey) depends on you. By now, some of you has
embraced parenthood, some are in the process of becoming parent. Parenthood is
associated with safety and security and therefore caution is inseparable in parenting.
It is this mix which enables You the Gen-Z to remain relevant in accordance with
Cenopythagorean categories created by philosopher Charles Sanders Peirce.
The Three Categories
Firstness is the mode of being of that which is such as it is, positively and without
reference to anything else. Gen-Z persons are having pure feeling, unique quality,
and independent possibility before any connection.
Secondness is the mode of being of that which is such as it is, with respect to a
second but regardless of any third. Gen-Z experiences action, reaction, and the
factual push-pull dynamicity.
Thirdness is the mode of being of that which is such as it is, in bringing a second
and third into relation to each other. Gen-Z is confronted with legalities, mediation
and discussion, thought and the connection that brings two things into relation with a
third.
